Hey there... 

I’m Kirsty – or KD. Never Kristy (oh, who am I kidding, I answer to it far more often than I’d like). 

I kicked off my entrepreneurial life at 15 (looking about as young as I do in this photo), hawking jewellery at markets while juggling soft serve shifts near Kmart and filing-slave duties at a real estate agency. Only one of those jobs involved free ice cream, so you can guess which one had my heart.

Since then, it’s been a three-decade adventure. I’ve done just about everything you can in real estate, led award-winning teams, and watched more than 15 of my former team go on to operate their own agencies – still my proudest legacy from that chapter.

Next up? Mortgage broking. I co-founded Up Loans in Tasmania and somehow managed to become one of Australia’s top brokers from an island better known for wombats than brokers on the top 100 list. (Shout out to the sensational Up crew.)

Along the way, I’ve picked up an MBA, spoken on stages across Oz, NZ, and the US, sat on boards, written a few books, and exited five businesses (three sizeable, two bite-sized).

Now? I'm focused on meaningful work, big-hearted people, and projects that spark wonder or create real impact (ideally both).

• Educating Girls in economically disadvantaged communities – because where you’re born shouldn’t determine how far you go.

• Financial & Functional Literacy in Tasmania – empowering locals with the tools to thrive, not just survive.

• Entrepreneurship – especially helping others back themselves and build something meaningful from scratch.
